What was the purpose of this convening?
Over the past few years, Ibis Reproductive Health has collected a breadth of data on transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive (TGE) people's experiences of sexual and reproductive health in the United States that we hope to share with those who could most benefit from this information.
Since then, TGE and intersex communities have faced an array of emerging barriers to sexual and reproductive health and general care due to the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic racism, and political threats to TGE and intersex rights. In April 2021, we hosted a virtual convening of 22 TGE and intersex community leaders to better understand the sexual and reproductive health needs that are emerging during this time and to gauge the feasibility of creating an online platform of resources and study findings to address these needs.
